Throat

When a patient arrives at Anne Arundel ENT, He or she will undergo an initial evaluation via thorough history and physical and/or questionnaire. Once initial information has been evaluated further evaluation usually by laryngoscopy or videostroboscopy as well as evaluation by our voice and swallowing therapist Heather Langford. For dysphagia, a modified barium swallow or transnasal esophagoscopy may be required to evaluate the esophagus.

Voice Conditions Treated: vocal nodules, polyps, cysts, vocal paralysis, laryngitis, relux laryngitis, spasmodic dysphonia, Irritable Larynx (Paradoxical true vocal cord movement, muscle tension dysphonia, chronic cough) Vocal nodules and polyps

Swallowing Conditions Treated: Laryngeal Reflux leading to a hypertrophy of the upper esophageal muscle and difficulty swallowing solid food. Aspiration secondary to stroke or vocal cord paralysis, Parkinsons.
